FINISHED !

Done! My design is completed and i have drawn the laptop out exactly how i would like it . 

The laptops made of :

-Aluminium bottom and round main screen (as labelled)

-Poly carbonate keys and also top to prodect the top shell screen.

- glass screen (screens are LED)

The main features are:

- The laptop has a LED screen as the top shell which allows the user to change the cover with any image they like or create a slideshow with a selection of pictures. The user can have a display which shows time and dates using widgets and also allows for the laptop to show alerts for such things as facebook and twitter. 

- The laptop is made of a single piece of aluminium and polucarbonate. 

- The tracker pad is a new shape to allow for sliding to left and right just as easy as up and down making web browsing easier and less effort. 

- The laptop is for cloud computing, with little components needed the laptop has little components! This means a more slimmer compact laptop which is easier to carry around.

- with the curved shape and light material the laptop feels very much like a cloud its self. 

Heading to the final!

 

I spent these pages developing the shape i wanted and trying to get the look how i wanted it. Getting the shape to feel cloud like was without makign the shape to obscure. I have also chosen to make the keyboard based on the apple mac book pros keyboard. 

Layout and final details

 

Now i am heading towards my final design i feel i should lay down all the details such as usb and inputs and all that stuff. I have decided all the materials and all the ideas i will add into my final design and how it will all be layed out. I will state in my next blog all materials and features. 

It just got personal!

 

 After lookign at google chrome i want to take the idea of using widgets and applications with the internet and apply it to the laptops actually function. I also like to give the user the ability to make the laptop more personal and give them the chance to customize the look of it. from this i went through a few ideas like chalkboards and whote boards and being able to etch words into metal shells. But i then came to the idea of have a screen as the top part and giving the user the chance to use any image as the laptop cover or be able to have a slide show on the lapto cover. this screen would be protected with a thin layer of transparent polycarbonate. i Also like the idea of being able to have widgets and alertes appear on the cover screen and for the user being able to customize it to their needs and wants. 

Google chrome... explain?

 

Part of the future of gaming is a more task related laptop that can be quicker at its chosen function and be more useful to the user. People generally only use laptops for the internet when using one in the down time .Google chrome makes this ideal and easier for the user. Google chrome laptops are for just simply surfing the net and onyl have the components to carry out this task. By stickign with my idea of cloud computing i am styaing in the same thought pattern. I would like my laptop to operate on applications and widgets and be very internet based. this means few components will be used and the laptop can be smaller , slimmer and lighter. I looked at how i could include chrome into my design but its WAY TO HEAVY. So I instead looked at different designs with aluminium but i feel this is a dead end. 

How many ways can a laptop be opened?

After lookign at cloud computing i wanted to look at how i can change the laptop in the ways we interact with it and how we can open it. I feel this would be a good add on to my design and maybe make it more futuristic. But i dont want to difffer to much from the standar look and design and not to alienate it to much.

SOCIAL... NETWORKING.....looks like the future of computing!

I looked at the idea of cloud computing and how the idea and concept works and can be represented, I like the idea a lot and want to make my laptop round this idea. I looked at making the shape of the laptop more cloud like and curved and light weight to represent a cloud. I then looked into the idea of having clear aluminium (which does exist) to be on the top shell and have a back light to give a glow to the laptop. this then developed further into frosting the clear aluminium and give more of a mist look combined with the back light. Ill explore further ideas.

BIG NOTE: by using the cloud computing concept this mean my laptop will have as little components as possible to allow for lighter and more compact design . I am gonna design the laptop to be smaller then your standard laptop.
